In addition to commonplace uses like weather forecasting, satellite Broadcasting, satellite navigation systems, and remote sensing, many satellite data applications have been developed. These journeys have produced powerful, uplifting sights for humanity, and pictures like the Blue Marble are now widely recognised as symbols of our mother earth. Technology that makes it possible to travel to other planets has a profound effect on Earth. Future space technology will typically rely on robotics and artificial intelligence to assist human teams of astronauts. In fact, the Space agency hopes to use a whole robot crew in the future. Robonaut, a robot assistant, already exists on the International Space Station.
