South-Korea - Energy Resources

Energy resources are sources of energy that can be used to generate power, heat or fuel. There are various types of energy resources, including:

Fossil fuels
These are non-renewable resources, such as coal, oil and natural gas. They are formed from the remains of ancient plants and animals and are typically extracted from the earth through drilling or mining.

Nuclear energy
This is the energy that is released from the nucleus of an atom. It is generated through a process called nuclear fission, which involves splitting the nucleus of an atom to release energy.

Renewable energy
These are sources of energy that are replenished naturally and can be used indefinitely without running out. Examples include solar, wind, hydro, geothermal and biomass.

Hydrogen
Hydrogen can be used as a fuel source, either directly or as a component of other fuels. It is typically produced through a process called electrolysis, which involves splitting water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen.

Biofuels
These are fuels that are derived from organic materials, such as plants or algae. Examples include ethanol and biodiesel.

Each type of energy resource has its own advantages and disadvantages in terms of availability, environmental impact, cost and efficiency.
